WHAT WE'RE LISTENING TO:
DAVE HUGHES                                   Dave Hughes is Handy Dave Hughes is perhaps one of the most important and significant talents to have emerged from the Australian comedy scene in the last ten years. A natural and unmistakably Australian comic, Dave’s laconic style thinly disguises one of the fastest comic minds this country has ever seen.He hit the road in 2009, with
his latest solo show offering, Dave Hughes is Handy. And now Liberation Music is proud to release the DVD of that show, Dave Hughes Is Handy. Featuring all brand new material, this new DVD cements Dave’s position at the top of the Australian comedy pantheon.
The DVD features a full length show recorded at the 2009 Melbourne International Comedy Festival, along with bonus features including exclusive backstage footage and ‘At Home With The Hugheses’, an intimate and personal look at Dave’s family life in his Melbourne home.
Jimmy Barnes                  The Rhythm And The Blues
NO one can craft a tribute album quite like Jimmy Barnes.
It’s a musical treat that comes along every decade or so and which always hits the spot with his fans. The good news is the stars have aligned and Barnes has again paid tribute to the pioneers of modern music - this time he’s dug a little deeper into the music vaults and rediscovered “the rhythm and the blues”.
Listen to the single 'Red Hot'.
IAN MOSS                   Shake/Let's Stay Together
The voice of Ian Moss has modestly purred beneath his searing guitar playing for more than 30 years – but no longer. For his sixth solo album, Soul on West 53rd, Ian’s sweet, soaring vocal is the pivot around which famed American producer Danny Kortchmar has built a rich, soulful sound, drawing on classic songs from the likes of Sam Cooke, Al Green, Otis Redding and Bill Withers. Unleashing this surge of soul power has unlocked a whole new chapter in Mossy’s performing career, which ironically was triggered by his appearances on the television series It Takes Two that highlighted vocal duets.

A Roadshow Films & Mushroom Pictures Project
Roadshow Films and Mushroom Pictures are proudly releasing the film, Anvil: The Story of Anvil!, on September 10th to cinemas around Australia.
The film is about dreams, hope, success and failure. It will make you laugh and cry, but most importantly make you feel inspired.
At 14, Toronto school friends Steve “Lips” Kudlow and Robb Reiner made a pact to rock together forever. They meant it.
Their band, Anvil, went on to become the “demigods of Canadian metal,” releasing one of the heaviest albums in metal history, 1982’s Metal on Metal. The album influenced a musical generation, including Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax, that went on to sell millions of records. But Anvil’s career took a different path – straight to obscurity.

We have a few very special passes for the Anvil Movie Premiere in Sydney: Wednesday 26th August Melbourne: Friday 28th August
